| The Crisfield Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched at 10:41 p.m. to investigate a possible vessel in distress. Four flares were reported in the Chesapeake Bay near Solomons Lump Light, north of Smith Island. Multiple agencies responded to the incident. Marine 2 answered the call with Chief Pruitt and two firefighters on board. Marine 4, the Coast Guard, and aviation units conducted a thorough search of the area. After an extensive search, no vessel was found, and Marine 2 returned to service. |
